Mateusz Klich on his way out of Leeds United, Marcelo Bielsa wants him to stay - MOT Leeds News 1/1/22

Matuesz Klich is “on his way out of” Leeds United despite
Marcelo Bielsa wanting to keep him, according to Mirror journalist David
Anderson.
Writing on the Mirror website, Anderson reports that Bielsa
is keen to keep hold of everyone already in his senior squad, which was already
low on numbers before the injury crisis of this season.
Klich is 31-years-old and despite his contract lasting until
2024, Anderson says he’s headed for the club’s exit doors.
“Mateusz Klich, who has really struggled this season and who
will be 32 in June, is on his way out of Elland Road, but Bielsa does not want
to lose him or anyone else now.”
If Klich leaves Leeds this month, then we’d be really
surprised.
The January transfer window has just opened so plenty can
happen over the course of the coming weeks but we really don’t expect to see
Bielsa get rid of anyone.
Klich has been there from the start of Andrea Radrizzani’s
total ownership of Leeds with the Poland international being one of Victor
Orta’s first signings as director of football.
The midfielder had a rough first season at Elland Road as he
was constantly overlooked by Thomas Christiansen before being loaned out in
January but since Bielsa’s appointment, the Pole has been transformed.
Klich has made 158 appearances in all competitions for Leeds
and was easily the player who Bielsa relied upon most in the Championship,
playing the Poland ace in almost every match.
It would be a massive shame to see him go but he will turn
32 in the summer and his recent performances suggest he may not be cut out for
the Premier League anymore.
If Klich goes, we wish him all the best. But we don’t see
that happening potentially until the summer.
