With the World Cup in Qatar nearing its conclusion, and England having left the competition at the hands of France on Saturday evening [10 December], many Whites supporters’ thoughts are turning back to domestic football and – more specifically – the mid-season trading window. This period offers the club the opportunity to strengthen areas of the squad which are perceived to be lacking in depth, particularly the striker and left-back positions.
