Leeds United beat Borussia Dortmund as Joel Piroe transfer revelation emerges - MOT Leeds News 26/8/23

Leeds United beat Borussia Dortmund, Southampton and a host
of German clubs in order to sign Joel Piroe from Swansea, according to Wales
Online.
The British media outlet reported on its website on Friday
(25 August) that the Bundesliga runners-up had shown a tentative interest late
on in the window along with their German counterparts Freiburg and Augsburg
making enquiries.
Southampton too held detailed discussions, but Leeds working
round the clock with the representatives of the 24-year-old this week saw them
getting the deal over the line.
Given the calibre of clubs showing an interest in him, Leeds
have done a massive job in securing his services.
It would’ve been a different thing had they done this while
in the Premier League as that’s the best competition in the world and players
would naturally be open to moving.
However, the Bundesliga does appear to be a more tempting
prospect than the Championship so it says a lot about the project at Elland
Road.
With new owners and a new manager in place, for once, the
Whites are acting like a serious football club and that’s only going to benefit
them in the long run.
They appear to have accelerated their transfer activity this
week and hopefully, they continue firing on all cylinders for the next few
days.
There’s a need for at least three or four new signings and
hopefully, they agree deals as soon as possible to avoid any hijacks.
