Leeds United have asked about loan deals for Leicester City
left-back Luke Thomas and Tottenham's Djed Spence.
The Championship side are keen to bolster their options at
full-back following their relegation from the top flight, despite keeping hold
of Junior Firpo and Luke Ayling and adding former Norwich star Sam Byram on a
free transfer this summer.
Leeds have endured a mixed bag of results to start the Championship season, winning and losing once and drawing twice under Daniel Farke.
Leaking goals is continuing to prove an issue for the
Yorkshire club following their relegation, with Leeds conceding seven times in
just four matches.
Farke's side edged out an enthralling 4-3 draw away at
Ipswich last weekend and take on bottom-of-the-league Sheffield Wednesday on
Saturday.
Manchester City academy graduate Callum Doyle has been
preferred to Thomas at left-back so far this season at Leicester, which has
prompted Leeds to ask about the 22-year-old's availability.
Meanwhile, Djed Spence has struggled for game time at
Tottenham since his move to north London from Middlesbrough last summer.
The 23-year-old star seems to be Ange Postecoglou's third
choice at right-back given that both Pedro Porro and Emerson Royal have already
started Premier League matches this season.
Spence excelled during the 2021-22 campaign while on loan at
Nottingham Forest, registering two goals and five assists during Steve Cooper's
promotion season in the Championship.
