Tommaso Giulini Makes Down Payment To Leeds Owner Massimo Cellino On Cagliari Deal

Inside Futbol 7/6/14
Former Inter board member Tommaso Giulini is thought to have already made a down payment to Massimo Cellino on his purchase of Cagliari.
Cellino, who also owns English side Leeds United, turned to Giulini after a deal to sell Cagliari to an American group fell through.
The Leeds owner had already been speaking to Giulini about a deal, but the €40m offer on the table did not come close to the Americans' bid of over €80m.
But with Cellino losing faith with the Americans, he quickly turned to Giulini, who himself is wasting no time pushing the deal over the line.
According to Sicilian daily L'Unione Sarda, Giulini has already paid €8m to Cellino ahead of the sale being formally completed.
Giulini is also planning to appoint former Roma coach Zdenek Zeman as the new boss at Cagliari.
The 67-year-old is renowned for his attacking style of football, favouring a 4-3-3 formation.
