David Hockaday named as new Leeds United head coach - leedsunited.com 19/6/14
Leeds United are pleased to announce that David Hockaday has been appointed to the position of head coach.
The 56-year-old has signed a two-year contract and will assume overall responsibility for the coaching staff and first team playing squad with immediate effect.
David arrives at Elland Road with a vast amount of coaching experience and was integral to the management team at Watford that gained promotion to the Premier League in 2006.
As well as his time at Watford, the former Forest Green manager enjoyed success at Southampton and MK Dons.
Hockaday had a long playing career with over 500 league appearances to his name. He started his playing career at Blackpool where he remained for eight years until he moved onto Swindon Town. The former right-back made over 200 appearances for Swindon and was also part of the side that gained promotion twice in his time at the club. His other clubs include Hull City, Stoke City and Shrewsbury Town.
