Report reveals when Leeds board will consider sacking Marsch; two games crucial to decision - The Boot Room 22/10/22
By Lee Connor
Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch disappeared straight down
the tunnel as his side lost out at Leicester City in midweek.
It was yet another abject performance from Leeds. Despite an
improved second period, the Whites never really looked like troubling the
Foxes, who have been enduring a tough season themselves in the Premier League.
Of course, Marsch faced tricky questions following the loss
but he remained determined in his approach and answers, insisting things can
pick up. And according to The Telegraph, that is a stance the Leeds board
share. For now.
The Telegraph reports how the Leeds board remain behind
Marsch’s plan and vision for now and there is a belief that the break for the
World Cup will give Marsch and the entire club a chance to make minor tweaks
and look at what can improve performance from December onwards.
However, two games are set to be crucial in the period
leading up to the World Cup and could have a big bearing on whether or not
Leeds pull the trigger. Home clashes with Fulham and Bournemouth are seen by
Leeds as ideal chances to get points on the board. Both promoted teams are in
good form, though, so those three points might not be as easy to get as some
think.
TBR’s View: Leeds And Marsch Need A Win
There is no doubt Jesse Marsch is under huge pressure now at
Leeds. His demeanour was that of a man feeling the heat on Thursday night and
he looked in trouble.
He will be desperate to see his side pick up some points. At
times, elements of the performance have been there and the energy we expect to
see from a Leeds side has caused some teams problems.
Leeds simply need to start finishing chances off and cut out
the silly mistakes. If they do that, then those three points they crave might
not be too far away.
