Leeds United have no Jesse Marsch replacements lined up - Fabrizio Romano - MOT Leeds News 26/10/22

Leeds United currently do not have a replacement lined up for Jesse Marsch if the American is sacked, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The American manager is currently walking the tightest of tightropes at Elland Road with no win in eight in the Premier League seeing the Whites slump into the relegation zone.

That run of results has seen just two points gained (at home to Aston Villa and Everton) but Victor Orta and Andrea Radrizzani are not yet planning to sack the manager.

“The Leeds United board is still backing Jesse Marsch as of today, so no news on a replacement, despite some speculation about his future and replacements,” Romano said to CaughtOffside.

“Let’s see the next performance in Premier League as they are strongly supporting Marsch.”

That next fixture is away at Liverpool with Manchester City also to come before the World Cup break and a pivotal game against Bournemouth in between.

Such a poor run of form does not often see a manager keep his job for too much longer and Marsch will be acutely aware that he has his back firmly against the wall at Thorp Arch right now.

That leaves him with two options for moving forward, either he can surrender from the onslaught and be sacked or he can show the world what he really has to offer and start winning games.

Despite the departures of Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips over the summer, this Leeds United squad should be much higher up the league than 18th and everybody knows it.

The club financially backed Marsch to bring in his own players to fit his ideal playing style over the summer and they would have expected much more from the entire team as a result.

But with results showing no signs of improving any time soon, it could soon be time for Leeds to cut their losses and go in search of a new manager before it’s too late.
