JESSE MARSCH: IT HURTS TO WALK AWAY WITH NOTHING - Leedsunited.com 9/10/22

Leeds United head coach Jesse Marsch spoke to the media following Sunday’s Premier League loss against Crystal Palace.

The Whites went ahead through Pascal Struijk in the first half, but the Eagles fought back to secure a 2-1 victory at Selhurst Park.

Marsch gave his opinion on the match, admitting the Whites were left to rue missed chances.

“In general, the first half was very good from us,” said Marsch. “It was one of our best halves of football and we were on top of the game. The shame was, that we weren’t able to manage the game better to go in at half time with the lead as I think we should have been two-nil up at least.

“They got a set-piece goal which we take pride in, so we weren’t happy about that and then that allowed them to make adjustments and the game was a little bit in the balance for the second half.

“They managed to get the goal and we weren’t able to create enough chances, so in the end it hurts because we walk away with nothing.

“I’m really positive about our group, though, we need to keep fighting, progressing and committing to the process and I believe in this team, no doubt.”
