Redfearn - Whirlwind start surprised Blackpool
Vital Leeds 9/11/14
Leeds United boss Neil Redfearn thought his side were excellent after hitting Blackpool with a whirlwind start to the game.
Leeds eventually won 3-1 after leading 3-0 at half time and Redfearn felt the start caught Blackpool by surprise.
Speaking to LUTV After the game, Redfearn said, 'I thought we were excellent in the first half, some of the touch, passing and the movement was different class.
'The second half was a damp squib but the important thing was the result came off the back of a good first half performance.
"To produce a performance like we did in the first half, and enjoy a 3-1 win, I have to be pleased.
"I thought the start was excellent and the first ten minutes was like a whirlwind and it took them by surprise and I think that is where we won the game."
Leeds had already spurned a couple of chances when centre-back Liam Cooper fired home his first goal for the club from the edge of the area.
Chances continued to come and Leeds eventually doubled their lead just past the half hour when Souleymane Doukara slid home. Mirco Antenucci added a third before the break as Leeds dominated.
With the game won by the break, Leeds took their foot of the gas in the second half, allowing Blackpool into the game and they scored a consolation goal through Nile Ranger with fifteen minutes remaining.
