White still out for Leeds but Bianchi back in training

LEEDS UNITED head coach Neil Redfearn has received some mixed news on the injury front as he prepares for the busy winter programme of Championship fixtures.
Good news has seen Italian midfielder Tommaso Bianchi make a quick return to training after hobbling off in the second-half of Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Blackpool at Elland Road with a shin injury.
Bianchi left the ground clearly in discomfort, but without the aid of crutches and Redfearn has allayed any injury fears.
Redfearn, who will watch a young under-21s side in action in a friendly arranged at Middlesbrough today, said: “He is fine. It was just a whack and he is back in training now.
“To be fair, he loves his training and he had a day where we rested him.
“But it was just a badly-bruised shin and he has got on with it and he’s fine now.”
Redfearn also revealed the young striker Lewis Walters - promote to the first-team squad this season - is stepping up his rehabilitation after being out with a knee problem since late July.
But Aidy White is still some way away from a return with the utility man sidelined since being stretchered off with a broken metatarsal in the pre-season friendly at Chesterfield on July 26.
Redfearn added: “Aidy is still ongoing and Lewis Walters is not too far away and he is back running now and his rehab has been stepped up.
“So hopefully in days, rather than weeks, we can get Lewis back in and around training.
“Aidy will be a little bit longer.”
