LEEDS UNITED head coach Neil Redfearn has dismissed concerns that Italian midfielder Tommaso Bianchi could be out for a spell after hobbling off in the second half of Saturday’s 3-1 victory over Blackpool.
Bianchi was hurt in a challenge with Tangerines midfielder David Perkins midway through the second half, suffering a shin injury which forced him to leave the fray with Michael Tonge replacing him.
Bianchi lay prostrate for a spell after sustaining the injury before gingerly getting to his feet ahead of hobbling off after receiving attention.
He left the ground following the game in discomfort, but without the aid of crutches with Redfearn confident there was no lasting damage.
Redfearn, whose United side return to action with a Roses clash at Blackburn Rovers on November 22, said: “He (Bianchi) is okay. It was just a full-one tackle, a painful one and a clash of shins. He’ll be alright.
“He did alright, he’s a bit of an unsung player who nobody mentions.
“But he does the simple things and fills in holes. He’s a good player.”
