Leeds UNITED goalscorer Mirco Antenucci has revealed his delight after an amazing week in his life was crowned by his strike in the 3-1 home victory over Blackpool.
The former Ternana forward, 30, who joined United in the summer, plundered the hosts’ third goal just before the break against the Seasiders - the day after his partner gave birth to their first child on Friday in Yorkshire.
It put the seal on a special week for the Italian, who plundered his fifth goal of an impressive baptism in English football with Antenucci having taken to footballing life in the Championship in impressive fashion.
Antenucci, settled in Leeds with his partner and new addition, said: “I am very happy and it has been an amazing week for me and my wife.
“The two days have been very good for me and my family and it is great to end it with a great win for the team because we miss (winning)games many times.
“It was very important to win and we are happy with the win.”
On United’s triumph over Lee Clark’s rock-bottom Seasiders, who have now claimed just one win on the road since November 2 last year, he added: “We played very well in the first half. The second half was less better for me, but we played good.
“For the international break, we will try and better our work.”
