Red Bull deny Leeds United takeover talk

RED BULL have confirmed this evening that they have no plans to take over Leeds United.
National reports had suggested that the soft drinks firm were lining up a bid for United as they sought to extend their sporting portfolio.
But this evening, Red Bull moved to clarify their position.
A spokesperson said: “We can confirm that Red Bull has no plans to take over Leeds United, nor take a stake in the club.
Owner Massimo Cellino had earlier categorically denied reports he was ready to sell his majority stake in United, despite it being understood that meetings took place between the club and representatives of the multi-national company firm last Thursday.
It represents the latest off-the-field story to hit the headlines regarding Leeds, but head coach Neil Redfearn - whose side welcome his former club Charlton tomorrow - insisted that the players would not be getting sidetracked.
He said: “To be honest, it is what it is. But from the playing point of view, it is irrelevant. It is about what we do, day to day, on the training ground and how we work.
“Nothing has changed at Thorp Arch. Nothing has changed in the fact that on Tuesday and on Saturday, we have got a game.”
Meanwhile, Redfearn says talks regarding bringing in a number two remain ongoing and will be sorted out in due course.
Huddersfield Town assistant-boss Steve Thompson, who Redfearn played with in his early days as a professional at Bolton Wanderers, has been linked with the post.
He said: “It is still ongoing. I have spoken to someone I have got in and Massimo (Cellino) is aware of the fact I need some help as well. That will get resolved in due course.
Redfearn confirmed Adryan has a chance of featuring tomorrow, but Billy Sharp remains sidelined. He could return for Saturday’s home clash with Blackpool.
