Leeds United news as 49ers ready for Elland Road development within months — MOT Leeds News 17/10/23

Leeds United owners, 49ers Enterprises are ready to push
forward with Elland Road stadium development plans, according to Phil Hay.
The Athletic journalist reported on Tuesday (17 October)
that the Whites owners’ priority is to see Daniel Farke’s squad return to the
Premier League this season, but they also hope to begin work off of the pitch
with stadium development plans pushed forward before the end of the campaign.
Plans to develop the stadium have been made easier because
of the 49ers’ decision to push for full ownership of the Whites and their
ground, which has allowed them to be the primary decision-makers at Leeds
United, rather than having to agree with other part owners.
49ers Enterprises completed a full takeover of the Yorkshire
club following relegation to the Championship as they acquired Andrea
Radrizzani’s majority stake in Leeds and have impressed fans in the early
stages of the ownership.
It really feels like Leeds United are moving forward in all
aspects under the ownership of the 49ers whether that be on or off of the pitch
and the plans to get the Elland Road Stadium development up and running sooner
rather than later are exciting.
For years it has been speculated that the Whites would look
to redevelop their home ground with nothing ever coming of the talks, but
finally, it seems like there may be some progress in Yorkshire.
This summer saw Daniel Farke well-backed in the transfer
window and he has managed to build a team that looks capable of challenging for
Championship promotion this season and the new owners deserve plenty of credit
for providing the level of funding that they did.
Leeds United are more than capable of becoming a regular
Premier League side, but to do that they need to get their house in order and
it does feel as though the organisation above the head of Farke is better under
the 49ers than it ever was under Radrizzani.
The sooner Leeds can get started with their redevelopment
plans the better and hopefully everything can be completed without a bump in
the road. Given the start to the season and the developments off of the field,
it is an exciting time to be a Leeds supporter.
