Crysencio Summerville has revealed Daniel Farke urged his
team not to panic and stick to the plan as they secured a thrilling comeback
win at Norwich City. Farke's first return to Carrow Road following a four-year
spell stint in charge of the Canaries ended in a 3-2 victory, with Summerville
netting twice including the 85th-minute winner.
The visitors were guilty of spurning a number of
opportunities before the break, and were punished as goals from Shane Duffy and
Gabriel Sara gave Norwich a two-goal cushion. Duffy's own-goal halved the
deficit shortly after the hour-mark before Summerville's double turned the game
around, and the winger was asked about Farke's half-time mesage.
He told LUTV: "The coach said we had to keep going, he
said this is football, if you don't score the other team is going to do it for
you. I think we were on a good run because we played very well, but I think we
were more focused and the goals came."
Summerville added: "It was difficult at the beginning,
we created many chances but the ball didn't go in. But because we played very
well, we just stuck to the plan and we got the win in the second-half so I'm
very happy."
The victory lifts Leeds up into third, and extends their
recent run to four victories in their last five matches. Reflecting on his own
display, Summerville felt he had to deliver after missing chances earlier in
the match, and believes the comeback proves United boast plenty of frontline
options.
The matchwinner said: "I had two big chances in the
first-half, so I told myself the next chance is going to be on target first and
I tried to hit the frame and it went in. It gave me confidence as well, so the
second one was not hard to score again.
"I think our attack has improved a lot, we've got many
players who can create something, many players who can score. I think we're
really good at the front now."
