Leeds United are agreeable to letting Illan Meslier leave
the club with Premier League teams circling, according to reports.
Illan Meslier has played his last game for Leeds United with
The Athletic's Phil Hay reporting there's a 'mutual feeling' his departure
would be a good thing.
Meslier struggled towards the tail end of the season and was
dropped by Sam Allardyce.
Despite his promise, the young Frenchman made a string of
high-profile errors and never fully convinced the fanbase at Elland Road.
Meslier, 23, was forced to make his senior debut at the age
of 19 when Kiko Casilla was suspended for eight matches.
He outshone the ex-Real Madrid man in the Championship and
became Marcelo Bielsa's number-one, featuring over 100 times for Leeds.
The 6ft 6 stopper is still five years away from approaching
his prime but seemed shot of confidence last season.
A fresh start could be best for both parties and reports
claim there will be a number of Premier League clubs interested in his
services.
Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur have all
shown an interest, although the latter look like they're about to fill their
net.
