Leeds reject initial bid for young star Summerville, Whites ‘holding out for more’ - The Leeds Press 12/6/23

Leeds United have reportedly rejected an initial bid from
PSV Eindhoven for winger Crysencio Summerville, according to Football League
World.
The offer is likely to be the first of many for the young
Dutch star during the summer, as speculation rages surrounding his future at
Elland Road.
Premier League club Aston Villa, as well as Bundesliga
outfits Red Bull Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund are the clubs most commonly
linked to Summerville, alongside PSV.
Now, the Eredivisie club have allegedly confirmed their
interest with a concrete bid of “around £10m” for the Dutchman’s services, an
approach which has been rejected by the Whites.
It is believed that the West Yorkshire club are “holding
out” for a bigger fee for Summerville, which is hardly surprising considering
the breakout season that the 21-year-old has enjoyed at Leeds this year.
Producing 4 goals and 2 assists in 12 starts for the Whites
this season, moments such as Summerville’s last-minute winner against Liverpool
at Anfield will live long in the memories of the Elland Road faithful.
Quick, skilful, and unafraid of taking on opposition
defenders – to sign the Dutch starlet for £10m would be a steal for PSV.
Summerville is just one of many Leeds players who will be
subject to interest from elsewhere this summer, as an exodus of the West Yorkshire
side’s top talent is expected.
To manage to keep hold of key figures like Summerville this
summer would be a real statement of intent from Leeds following the terms of
their takeover by 49ers Enterprises being agreed last week – as doing so would
go a long way towards helping the club bounce straight back into the Premier
League following their relegation this year.
