Brand new manager enters Leeds United reckoning, never coached senior team – Adam Pope - Leeds All Over 20/6/23

Leeds United are heading towards finding their new manager
this week, and Real Madrid youth boss Raul is reportedly someone entering the
equation.
Leeds fans remain in the dark as the clock ticks on a
managerial appointment this month, with pre-season at the start of July now in
view.
The San Francisco 49ers will want to make sure that they
make the right appointment as the Whites attempt to clinch promotion at the
first time of asking.
As the number of names seems to whittle down towards final
candidates, BBC journalist Adam Pope has teased another manager that could be
in the running this week.
Replying to a fan on Twitter, Pope stated that Real Madrid
Castilla boss Raul could enter the running, as he made his gut feeling
prediction:
Raul was reportedly one of the names considered back in
February to replace Jesse Marsch as Victor Orta scrambled for a replacement
when Leeds were still in the Premier League, before the iconic Spaniard turned
down the move – per Cadena Ser.
As Pope alludes to, there has also been discussion today
regarding a possible move for ex-Crystal Palace man Patrick Vieira.
Sky Sports revealed this morning that he was part of the
shortlist, while former Norwich City man Daniel Farke is also on the shortlist
and expected to be interviewed.
Raul would be a serious gamble, and one that I’m not sure
many fans would be on board with right away, especially after his handball back
in 2001 that some fans still won’t have forgotten about.
It’s hard to understand too much about what he would bring
to the club, as he coaches Real Madrid’s reserve side that have zero exposure
in England.
Out of the three names there, you have to be looking at
Farke as a fairly obvious move to make in order to bring in the right experience.
