McDermott - We need to freshen up the squad

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says he is desperate to freshen up the
squad and bring in new blood after Leeds went down to a second defeat in a row.
Leeds lost at home for the first time in three months, as Blackburn won 2-1, a defeat that makes it four games without a win.
The defeat also sees Leeds slip to eighth in the championship and with the transfer window now open, McDermott says they must be looking to kick on and bring players in.
Speaking in his post-match press conference, McDermott said, "In the last two games we haven`t looked as solid as we have looked in the past and it needs addressing.
"We are squeezing everything out of the players that we have here, they are doing everything they can but we need to freshen the squad up.
"We are eighth in the league, we have done well to be where we are, we now need to kick on and bring one or two others in.
"It is difficult. I am talking to a number of players but it is so difficult to nail clubs down to make decisions and sell players because not many teams want to sell players in the January window.
"I am just looking for someone who can make the difference for us and that is what I am looking for."
Leeds looked tired as Blackburn put them to the sword in the first half at Elland Road with Jordan Rhodes and Rudy Gestede on target for the visitors.
Matt Smith scored his eighth goal of the season for Leeds to bring them back into the game early in the second half and Alex Mowatt almost equalised when his effort hit the crossbar but the side looked a shadow of the one that lost just one game in nine before they defeat at Nottingham Forest last Sunday.
Leeds now have ten days before their next championship game, with the FA Cup taking centre stage this weekend and McDermott will be desperate to add to his squad by the time they visit Sheffield Wednesday on January 11th.
