McDermott ends interest in Gradel
Leeds United boss Brian McDermott has ended his interest in former player Max Gradel.
The Ivory Coast international winger has been linked with a return to Leeds recently with him desperate for regular first team football ahead of the World Cup finals in Brazil this summer having recently returned for a long-term injury.
Gradel spent two-years at Elland Road, helping the club win promotion from League One and he scored 18-goals in Leeds first season back in the championship.
McDermott admitted last month that he was interested in bringing Gradel back to Elland Road from French top-flight side St Etienne. Following the arrival of winger Cameron Stewart from Hull City today and the imminent signing of fellow winger Jimmy Kebe from Crystal Palace the Leeds boss has said that he was no longer interested in signing Gradel. McDermott was asked about Gradel in his press conference ahead of the game at Sheffield Wednesday this weekend and he stated that he is no longer in the hunt to bring the 26-year-old back to Elland Road.
