Leeds have announced a strategic partnership with the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers.
Representatives of the American team will travel to Leeds to discuss aspects of the club’s business.
Leeds managing director David Haigh told the club’s official website: 'This is a strategic partnership and we’re looking forward to working closely with the 49ers.
'They are a worldwide brand, and we’ll be discussing all aspects of our business; marketing, ticketing, merchandising, and commercial opportunities, and hopefully tapping into and sharing knowledge with them.'
Chief operating officer of the 49ers Paraag Marathe also told www.leedsunited.com: 'The 49ers are very excited about the prospect of partnering with Leeds United, a club with an international following as well as great history and tradition.
'We look forward to sharing best practices with Leeds United and providing them with our perspective on the sports industry. This is an exciting opportunity for us to link up with an English football club and learn from each other.'
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace winger Jimmy Kebe has joined Leeds on loan until the end of the season.
The Championship club, whose manager Brian McDermott worked with the Mali international at Reading, have the option of a permanent deal in the summer.
McDermott actually scouted Kebe at Reading and later worked with him as a manager, winning promotion to the Premier League in 2012.
'Jimmy is a player that I scouted from France in 2006. He has fantastic pace, he is a real team player, and he made and scored goals for us in the Championship and the Premier League. I’m delighted he’s come on board and I’m really looking forward to working with him again,' McDermott said.
Kebe joined Palace in the summer but has failed to make an impact and has been restricted to six appearances this season.
