McDermott hopes to have two in before next weekend
Leeds United boss Brian McDermott is hoping to have up to two new players in before the trip to Sheffield Wednesday next week.
McDermott is desperate to strengthen his squad after a disappointing festive period and the humiliating defeat to League Two Rochdale on Saturday.
The Leeds boss admitted they are close to signing Hull City winger Cameron Stewart and he is now looking towards the next deal ahead of the trip to Sheffield Wednesday next Saturday.
Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, McDermott said, "We are close to completing a move for Stewart. We now need to move on and seal another deal. I am hoping to have one or two new players in before the trip to Sheffield Wednesday."
Hull left Stewart out of the FA Cup tie at Middlesbrough on Saturday and their boss Steve Bruce admitted after their game that Leeds were close to signing the winger who spent the first half of the season on loan at Charlton Athletic.
