Leeds United: Brian McDermott - FA Cup loss was worst moment

BBC 4/1/14
Leeds manager Brian McDermott described his side's shock FA Cup third-round defeat at League two side Rochdale as probably his "worst moment in football".
The 2-0 loss leaves the Championship side winless in five matches.
"I stood on the pitch after a defeat in the play-off final and it didn't feel like that at the final whistle today - today felt worse," he said.
"I said to the players they have to remember that feeling."
Leeds, winners of the FA Cup in 1972 and runners-up on another three occasions in the 1960s and 1970s, are only one point off the Championship top six in eighth.
But after seeing his side upset by Rochdale, who deservedly progressed to the fourth round for the first time 11 years, McDermott believes new signings are needed this month.
He said: "We need to invest in this team, it needs help. We seem to have run out of steam. We have to do it for those who travelled today and I'm desperately, desperately sorry we put on a performance like today."
"You have to credit Rochdale. They played good football. We knew what it would be about today and they deserved it. We showed them complete respect because we knew we had to - I knew how difficult it would be.
"I would probably say that is my worst moment in football. This will be a driver for me in the coming weeks. "
