Speaking to LUTV, Brian McDermott has confirmed that he will be meeting with a potential transfer target on Friday, prior to the Leicester game.
@ThomKirwin: “Brian McDermott interview will be on #lutv tomorrow, he tells me he’s meeting with a transfer target on Friday. #lufc”
In his press conference today, McDermott suggested that he did not expect Leeds’s transfer activity to be done for the January window, despite dismissing links to Reading striker Adam Le Fondre, who he brought to the club whilst managing them.
He said: “He’s a Reading player, it’s nothing to do with me.
“We will have opportunities to sign players. We might sign one player, we might sign three.”
McDermott also stressed the importance of long term thought regarding his position as manager, talking about the fact that Leeds have had almost ten managers in the last ten years. He is also showing a similar thought process regarding transfers into the club, clarifying that he would be interested in signing players on pre-contract arrangements in preparation for next season.
The suggestion regarding El-Hadji Diouf is that he will be moving out during the upcoming window.
