Anton Stach's viral moment with a kangaroo and a cow has Leeds United rivals saying same thing — Leeds Live 9/5/26

In the club controlled media world of professional sport and with so much 'media training' footballers are given these days, the sanitised output often stands out due to the sparsity of characters in our game. It is a fact bemoaned by many who remember the days when so many of our favourite sports were dominated by big, larger than life characters.

That is not the case in the new digital age when sportsmen and women so often have to be protective of their own brands and those they play/work for, to the point where everything feels very similar. There are, however, exceptions to the rule. Step forward, Leeds United star Anton Stach.

The German international midfielder has been a big hit on the pitch since arriving last summer from Hoffenheim, and he's proving to be a hit off the field too with his sense of humour which breaks not just the boring footballer stereotype, but the age old 'boring' German one also.

Stach launched his own YouTube channel earlier this year, producing vlog's charting his life in Leeds with his partner, while even taking to the streets to interview the people of Leeds about English life.

The defensive midfielder has now got people talking with his latest post on TikTok. With the caption, "No way this happened today on the way back after training," Stach has posted a video that involves a car almost hitting a kangaroo and then a cow, with the Leeds player then suggesting he stopped to pick up both animals to give them a lift home, with a picture to prove it. Yes, it's as bizarre as it sounds.

"I don’t think he know he plays for the best team in the premier league," responded one Leeds supporter as the comments section of the post blew up, with many wondering what they had just witnessed, while fans of all clubs celebrated the quirky nature of the man and his posts.

"Professional football player btw," was another. Paul Malinowski on TikTok said; "Every footballer should run their own social media," while SealSamurai replied; "United fan but you just cant hate this man."

Here are some more of the comments.
