Morrie Eisenberg contributed to the Elland Road expansion plans while at Leeds United.

Leeds United have confirmed the summer departure of one of the top Elland Road executives.

Morrie Eisenberg is to leave the club this summer to take up the CEO role at San Diego Wave in the National Women's Soccer League. Eisenberg arrived at Elland Road in October 2023 and has held the role of chief business officer. He was tasked with input into the Elland Road redevelopment plan, commercial revenue streams and business operations.

Managing director Robbie Evans said: "While I am disappointed to see Morrie leave, I am grateful for his effort and impact over the last three years. Much as with players, when you employ excellent people who produce excellent results, sometimes the unfortunate effect is that they will attract interest elsewhere.

"Morrie and I first met three years ago in discussing if we should leave our old lives behind to try and help Leeds United return to its rightful place in English football. Three seasons later, he leaves with the club on an excellent trajectory. I hope Morrie is especially proud of his tireless work on the stadium expansion, which will benefit the club, supporters, and the community for generations to come.

"Morrie and his wonderful family depart with the best wishes of the club. He is welcome anytime if he tires of California sunshine and misses the Yorkshire weather."

Eisenberg, who will officially leave his role in August, says the club have made real progress towards the aim of establishing themselves in the top flight.

"It has been a privilege to work at Leeds United for the past three seasons, in that time we have made so many positive strides towards our ambition of becoming an established Premier League side, with so many terrific memories created together over that time," he said. "The club has amazing people behind the scenes, I would like to thank them as well as the people of Yorkshire for making me feel so welcome.

"Thanks also to the incredible fans of Leeds United around the world as well as club ownership for this opportunity, I’ll always remain a proud member of the Leeds United family and wish the club every success looking ahead."
