Everton drop Jack Harrison hint as Leeds United loanee’s stunning training-ground footage emerges — Leeds United News 21/2/25

With both Leeds United and Everton taking big steps towards
achieving this season’s objectives, a decision over the future of Jack Harrison
is expected at some point in the relatively near future.
Leeds United ascended back to the top of the Championship
summit thanks to the most ‘hallmark of champions’ sort of victories over
Sunderland last time out.
Beat title rivals Sheffield United on Monday night at
Bramall Lane – albeit that is a task which could become a whole lot harder
after Daniel Farke admitted Manor Solomon is an injury doubt – and Leeds would
go five points clear of the Blades with 12 matches remaining.
As for Everton, while The Toffees were criticised for
seemingly making a desperate attempt to recapture past glories, the return of
David Moyes has paved the way for a more stable present and a more optimistic
future post-Goodison Park.
The Toffees are now 13 points above the relegation zone.
Their record as Premier League ever-presents destined to continue.
A few weeks ago, when Everton were fearing the drop and
Leeds were dropping points against Blackburn and Hull City, no one had any real
idea where Jack Harrison’s future would lie.
The winger is spending a second season on loan at Everton
from Elland Road. Would The Toffees look to pursue a permanent deal? Would
Leeds welcome Harrison back to West Yorkshire if Everton decided to let him go?
At least, with Leeds taking another big step towards
promotion and Everton all-but safe, any discussions over Harrison’s fate should
soon be conducted with a greater sense of certainty.
Upon his unveiling back on Merseyside a month ago, David
Moyes opened up on his admiration for the Leeds loanee.
An injury to the twinkle-toed Iliman Ndiaye has since
created a hole on the left-hand side of the Everton attack. A hole Harrison
filled impressively against Crystal Palace last weekend, the tireless
28-year-old delivering one of his better performances in a 2-1 away win at
Selhurst Park.
The sight of Harrison rattling in a couple of thumping
finishes on the training pitch – including one wicked strike into the top
corner – also felt like the calling card of a footballer rediscovering his
self-confidence.
Harrison is yet to score a single goal for Everton this
term. Perhaps that could change in Saturday’s early kick-off. Everton host a
Manchester United side for whom Harrison spent seven years in his younger days.
“Jack himself is needing more confidence,” admits Moyes,
speaking at his pre-match press conference.
“He’s done well for us away at Crystal Palace. We need them
[players like Harrison].
“I’m pleased Jack has got back at it.”
Moyes adds that Harrison has embraced the role of a mentor
to winter acquisition Carlos Alcaraz.
The Argentine playmaker has made a big impression at Everton
already – as much for his firebrand ferocity as his finesse – and Harrison has
helped Alcaraz settle since he arrived on loan from Flamengo in Brazil.
According to reports, Everton have the option to sign Jack
Harrison for £20 million this summer. As things stand, that feels a little on
the expensive side for a forward who does not have a goal or even an assist to
show for his considerable efforts across the season.
Though presuming he can build on that eye-catching display
at Crystal Palace, Moyes sounds like a manager open to discussing a more
long-term allegiance.
