Young goalkeeper earning international plaudits

Young Leeds United goalkeeper Eric Grimes is earning the plaudits for the Republic of Ireland under-19`s as he produced a man of the match performance as they defeated hosts Sweden 1-0 in their latest qualifying game.
Ireland are in Sweden, playing three games in five days, as they look to progress to the next qualifying round for next summer`s European championship finals.
After keeping a clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Azerbaijan on Thursday, Grimes kept out Sweden with a string of fine saves to help Ireland upset their hosts.
Grimes efforts in goal were rewarded when Ireland won the game with just seven minutes remaining. Reading midfielder Liam Kelly beat the Swedish goalkeeper with an audacious effort from the halfway line.
The win for Ireland sees them top their group with maximum points from two games and they finish with a game against Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday.
Ireland are already guaranteed a spot in the next phase of qualifying next spring. The top two in the four-team group will qualify for the next stage of qualifying for the finals in Hungary next summer.
The results from this tournament also act as qualification for the under-20 World Cup finals in New Zealand in 2015.
