Leeds are among a number of Championship clubs interested in signing highly-rated Manchester United striker Will Keane on loan.
Elland Road boss Brian McDermott was at Carrington on Thursday afternoon to see Keane score in United’s 3-1 defeat to Birmingham in a friendly behind closed doors.
Derby, Nottingham Forest and Blackburn are among the other clubs looking at Keane and midfielder Larnell Cole who was also in action.
Keane, 20, was voted United’s top young player in 2010. He made his first-team debut in the shock defeat at home to Blackburn on New Year’s Eve the following year, but missed the whole of last season after rupturing his cruciate ligament on international duty with England Under-19s.
He returned to action for United’s Under-21s last month and scored four goals in three games before getting on the scoresheet again in the Birmingham game.
Keane’s twin brother Michael plays in defence at United but also has an eye for goal judging by his opener in a 4-0 win for England Under-21s over San Marino on Thursday night.
