DANIEL FARKE: WE SHOULD HAVE BURIED THE GAME - Leedsunited.com 21/9/23
Leeds United manager Daniel Farke spoke exclusively to LUTV following Wednesday’s draw with Hull City.
The Whites recorded a third clean sheet in a row at the MKM
Stadium, as the club’s unbeaten run extended to five league games.
Farke was left with mixed emotions after the match, in which
defender Joe Rodon was dismissed on the hour mark.
“If you would have told me before, after a difficult away
game at Millwall with just two days off, we are there with a clean sheet and a
point at Hull who have started the season really well, I wouldn’t have taken it
because I always want to go for the three points, but I would have said it’s
definitely a good point on the road.
“After the game, I’m a bit divided, after 65 minutes only
one team would win this game, we didn’t allow them one chance and we created so
many clear chances in the first half and the second half started in the same
way.
“It wasn’t a question of if we would go into the lead, it
was when.
“Small situations can change the momentum of the game,
conceding the yellow and red card, you obviously can’t press as high any more
and you have to sit a bit deeper.
“The opponent can then get a bit more brave and confident
with each and every pass.
“Normally you then concede one chance and it was an
unbelievable chance in the 89th minute, which should have been a goal, so
thankfully he hit the post and then under the circumstances it is a good point.
“Although, we should have buried the game by 65 minutes.”
