RODRIGO: IT WAS AN INCREDIBLE FEELING - Leedsunited.com 19/3/22

After scoring the equalising goal on the way to a dramatic late comeback away at Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday night, Rodrigo chatted with LUTV.

The Spanish international showed a clinical touch and pounced on his opportunity in the box to fire home, after Sam Greenwood had created the chance.

After being two-goals down going into half-time, Rodrigo said the fightback was a team effort which everyone deserved.

“It was an incredible feeling,” the forward stated, after getting the three points. “It was an amazing game that everyone enjoyed at the end. I think the first half was a bit difficult, with the goals, especially the second one because it was a lack of attention on the set-piece. We had three injuries in the first half, Raphinha got Covid before, so we’ve had to overcome a lot of difficulties.

“Everyone deserved this win a lot. The team, the staff, and of course the fans as well.”

The victory makes it back to back wins for Rodrigo and his Leeds United side, who now have a two-week international break before taking on Southampton at Elland Road.

He said: “We are very happy, the two last games have been very important for us. This group of players deserve it a lot, it’s true that it hasn’t been an easy season for us, it’s had many difficult moments. But, this is part of football and this group will give everything for this club, I think that’s the most important part. We are very happy with the win and now we have time to rest a little bit during the international break, then come back with the maximum power until the end of the season.”
