Jesse Marsch Gives Fascinating Interview On His Coaching Philosophy, He's A Breath Of Fresh Air - Sport Bible 19/3/22
Jack Kenmare
Leeds United manager Jesse Marsch gave a passionate,
fascinating and detailed interview on his coaching philosophy after the club's
dramatic win against Wolves on Friday night – and fans are massively impressed.
Despite defeats against Leicester and Aston Villa in his
opening two games, the 48-year-old American has enjoyed some early success
after he was appointed as head coach following the controversial departure of
Marcelo Bielsa.
On Sunday, the Whites managed to pick up a crucial win
against Norwich and then last night's incredible comeback to win 3-2 helped
boost their bid for Premier League survival. Here is that astonishing last gasp
winner from full-back Luke Ayling.

After the full-time whistle, Sky Sports managed to grab
Marsch for a few minutes to discuss the events at Molineux, where goals from
Jack Harrison, Rodrigo and Ayling cancelled out first-half strikes from Jonny
and Francisco Trincao to seal all three points.
He spoke about his coaching philsophy, avoiding relegation
and the decision to not play Kalvin Phillips.
This is really impressive stuff.

🗣️ Marsch: "No. To be honest with you guys, he was never going to play."@Carra23 and @GNev2 loved that response 😂 pic.twitter.com/F39DBX8Ju6
Marsh said: “I don’t care what happens with the other teams.
We have to focus on ourselves. And the more that we can control what we can
control, then the more we can put good performances together and that’s the way
to collect points.
“That’s what I said to the team a week ago. I said ‘I don’t
want us to survive, I want us to thrive in the moment.'
“So, we’re starting to see that. It comes from accessing the
courage of these young men and the quality they have as young men.”
After that impressive interview with Sky, the former RB
Leipzig coach also fired shots back at the media with a comment on his accent
"None of them have made fun out of my accent like some
of you (media)," he said in his post-match press conference. "They
had a coach who worked really well with them. They could have had a lot of
issue but they have committed themselves."
"From day one [the players] accepted me. None of them made fun of my accent, unlike some of you..." 👀

In fact, Marsch quickly played down potential issues
surrounding his accent in his first interview with the club's media.
“I have a lot to prove to our fanbase that I’m the right guy
to follow such a hero like Marcelo Bielsa,” he said.
“But I think the key is that when they see the team play and
if the team plays with passion, and they play with heart, and they give
everything they have, and that they show that they’re also intelligent, clear
with the playing model, and they’re aggressive.
"...then I think normally the fans will tolerate the
coach even if they don’t like his accent or if he’s not as popular as the
previous coach.
“Over time, I found that I’ve always had an incredibly
passionate and well-connected relationship with the fanbases everywhere I’ve
gone.”
