McDermott's odds slashed to take Baggies job

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott is amongst the favourites to take over the vacant manager’s position at West Bromwich Albion.
Albion have parted company with manager Pepe Mel today after they avoided relegation from the Premier League by just three points.
Whilst former Cardiff City manager Malky Mackay is the early favourite to replace Mel, McDermott`s odds have been slashed from 16/1 earlier today and he is now as short as 11/5 to takeover at the Hawthorns.
The Leeds boss is still unsure of his own future at Elland Road following the arrival of new owner Massimo Cellino in April. The Italian owner sacked McDermott in January before officially taking over at Leeds and GFH Capital, who were still in control of the club at the time, reinstated him the following day.

Leeds United are edging closer to a club-record deal for James Trafford following the completion of the goalkeeper’s medical. As first reported by The Athletic on Thursday morning, the YEP understands Trafford has undergone relevant medical tests this week and is set to become Leeds’ third signing of the summer.
