Goalkeeper Ashdown heads for chop at Leeds; who will follow?

Goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown admitted last night that his Leeds United career appeared to be over as he and the club’s other out-of-contract players awaited news of their fate.
Ashdown, whose second season at Elland Road has been ruined by a toe injury, said he was looking ahead to his “next adventure” after completing what he said was his “last training session” at Thorp Arch yesterday.
The 33-year-old looks set for inclusion in the list of departures from Leeds this summer, though United are still to reveal whether any of the players nearing the end of their deals will be offered contracts for next season.
Nine first-team professionals are due to become free agents in July and Leeds also have a decision to make over Charlie Taylor, the young left-back who is currently on loan at Fleetwood Town.
Among those out of contract are Michael Brown and El-Hadji Diouf. The Yorkshire Evening Post understands that Diouf is certain to part company with Leeds having failed to figure regularly this season.
Ashdown also implied that he would be also be moving yesterday, writing on Twitter: “Last training session today.
“Great club. Look forward to my next adventure now. Thanks to all that helped me through injury.”
Ashdown joined Leeds on a free transfer from Portsmouth in 2012, one of several signings made by former manager Neil Warnock, but he was restricted to appearances in a string of cup matches last season and was sidelined for most of this term by two bouts of surgery on his injured toe.
