Claudio Ranieri in running to be next Leeds manager

Former AS Monaco manager Claudio Ranieri has appeared as a shock contender to become Leeds United’s next manager according to the Daily Express.
Despite leading Monaco to promotion and then 2nd place in Ligue 1 in France in consecutive seasons, the 62-year-old was relieved of his duties earlier today. Now, according to the Daily Express, he could be in the running to take over at the Yorkshire club.
The relationship between new owner Massimo Cellino and current manager Brian McDermott has been almost non-existent since the end of the season and a new manager is a real possibility before the start of the new campaign.
Ranieri has managed in England once before. He was manager at Chelsea for years between 2000 and 2004 and was nicknamed ‘The Tinkerman’ during his time there. The Italian has had a long managerial career which has seen him take charge of sides such as Inter Milan, Roma, Juventus and Valencia.
Bookmakers Ladbrokes lead the betting on Ranieri, with Leeds being 2nd favourites at 10/1 to be the Italians next job. AC Milan are the favourites at 8/1.
