Sheffield United: White hopes extinguished

Sheffield Star 7/11/13

Brian McDermott, the Leeds manager, has again insisted that Aidy White will not be eligible for selection when Sheffield United visit Colchester in the FA Cup this weekend.
Nigel Clough, McDermott’s counterpart at Bramall Lane, yesterday revealed he hoped White, who moved to South Yorkshire on loan last month, would be allowed to take part in the first round tie.
But McDermott today confirmed the former Republic of Ireland under-21 international must sit out the fixture.
Leeds enter the competition at the third round stage next year.
