Brian McDermott gives his verdict on Sunday's 0-0 draw at Leicester City...
Brian McDermott had no complaints after watching his side pick up a point at Leicester City on Sunday.
In a game of few chances, the two sides drew 0-0 at the King Power Stadium, extending our unbeaten start to the season to three games, and notching up our first away clean sheet under the tenure of the new manager.
“Maybe we just needed that little edge in the final third, but we could have nicked it right at the end,” said the boss. “Overall I thought it was a fair result.
“There wasn't much in it. We started really well. We had a couple of early opportunities. You have to respect them. They have spent a lot of money and they were in the Play-Offs last season.”
United were organised and solid against a team, who have again started the season among the favourites for promotion.
“People talk about winning leagues and the like, but we’re only on game two,” said the boss. “We try and do our homework, look at the details and give the opposition every respect.
“We're trying to create a spirit where you can get results. It wasn't vintage, but we're trying to create a team that gets results.
“I thought our fans were great. They want to see the players put their bodies on the line and they showed their appreciation at the end.”
