Duberry stays at Leeds
Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell believes it made "no footballing or economical sense" to allow defender Michael Duberry to move to Wolves.
United pulled out of the proposed deal after Blackwell feared he would be left short of centre-back cover following Dominic Matteo's transfer to Blackburn.
"What we were saving on wages was negligible," he said. "It was going to cost us as much to replace him.
"Michael expressed a desire to stay and I know he can do a very good job."
Duberry had agreed in principle to having his contract terminated but he will now stay put.
"I would have hated to see him playing for one of our rivals next season," Blackwell added.
Blackwell is due to appoint a new captain to replace Matteo in the next few days.
