Joe Rodon: Everyone is making an impact — Leedsunited.com 25/1/25
Defender looks ahead to Burnley clash.
Leeds United’s impressive run of form continued during the
week with another important home victory over Norwich City.
Keeping a clean sheet at Elland Road, goals from Manor
Solomon and Dan James ensured the Whites claimed all three points.
After back-to-back Sky Bet Championship wins on home turf
without conceding a goal, defender Joe Rodon was full of praise for his
teammates, as he spoke to LUTV.
“I think when you are winning, it is always happy around
you,” the Wales international explained. “We just want to keep adding and
putting points on the board. I think everyone knows the schedule is, you know,
it is carnage. The good thing is, of course, everyone wants to play and I think
we have a very hungry group here and the players who don’t play and then come
in, they make an impact. That is the most important thing because as we go back
and talk about the schedule, we are going to need everyone. We saw that last
year. It is a very long season. It is a demanding physical league. So, I think
it is a credit to the boys who aren’t getting as many minutes as others, when
they come in, they make an impact. And like I said, we are going to need
everyone and I feel like everyone is chipping in this year.
“You can be physically prepared as you want, but it is the
mentality which is the difference. I think what happened to us last year is
only going to make us more hungry and determined in what we want to do this
year.
“Of course, we know the role we take. We are at Leeds United
and we know the pressure that comes with that. So, every player here knows the
role, knows the job we need to do.”
After victory over the Canaries, attentions very quickly
turn to Monday’s clash away against Burnley, a challenge Rodon believes his
teammates are excited for.
“We don’t look past each game. We take each game as it
comes. And like I said, the most important game now is next Monday, and that is
all we look to, and we will look to go and win the game. As we all know, they
are a very strong team and they are doing very well. Like I said, they are
very, very hard to break down, as you have seen in the table.
“So, I think it is just going to be another important week
for us, where the boys are going to knuckle down and work hard. We have a bit
of time to prepare, which is always nice and good.
“But not just Burnley’s defence, their attack as well – they
are up there for a reason. They score goals also, so all their team is very
strong and we respect that.
