FABRIZIO ROMANO CONFIRMS THE CONTRACT DETAILS IN LEEDS UNITED’S TRANSFER AGREEMENT WITH LUTON TOWN - Football League World 26/1/23
By Declan Harte
Cody Drameh’s move to Luton Town will involve no permanent
option for the player.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the full back will arrive back
at Elland Road in the summer to be part of Jesse Marsch’s squad.
Leeds United agreed a deal with the Hatters to loan out the
21-year old for the remainder of the season.
The defender is set for a medical later today as the club
looks to complete the deal ahead of this weekend’s FA Cup clash with Grimsby
Town.
Rob Edwards is looking for reinforcements at right back
following the decision to accept a deal worth up to £750K with Southampton for
James Bree.
Drameh has made just one league appearance so far this
season, starting in a 5-2 loss to Brentford back in September.
The right back enjoyed a successful period on loan in the
second half of the previous campaign with Cardiff City.
Drameh made 22 appearances for the Bluebirds as he helped
the team to an 18th place finish in the Championship.
Despite this, he failed to make a breakthrough with Leeds
this campaign so will be hoping his time at Kenilworth Road will have a greater
impact.
Drameh performed quite well for Cardiff last season so
should prove a positive signing for Luton.
Losing Bree is a blow, but finding a quick replacement is a
sign of a club that plans ahead.
Not having a permanent option in the deal does mean a
permanent replacement will need to be found in the summer.
But Drameh should provide enough quality to make a
worthwhile short-term solution.
