Leeds United: Whites cash in on Clayton’s Riverside switch
Yorkshire Evening Post 14/8/14

Leeds United have earned a small cash windfall after Adam Clayton completed a transfer from Huddersfield Town to Middlesbrough.
Clayton’s switch to The Riverside yesterday will see Leeds receive around £100,000 through a sell-on clause agreed when the Elland Road club sanctioned his move to Huddersfield in 2012.
The ex-Manchester City trainee spent two years with United but left Leeds during a summer of widespread changes under Neil Warnock.
He was a regular for Town in both of the past two seasons, winning their player-of-the-year award last term, but Middlesbrough have finalised a protracted move by agreeing a cash-plus-player deal for the 25-year-old.
Midfielder Jacob Butterfield, formerly of Barnsley, has moved in the opposite direction. Middlesbrough fought off interest from Brighton to secure Clayton’s signature, paying Huddersfield a fee in excess of £1m.
Clayton is now in line to make his debut for Boro against Leeds at Elland Road on Saturday, United’s first home game of the Championship season.
