Verbal agreement in place for player...
Brian McDermott is expecting to further strengthen his squad next week after striking a "verbal agreement" with one of his targets.
The boss wouldn't be drawn on the identity of the player, but he confirmed: "I've got a verbal agreement with one player which will happen next week.
"As far as I'm concerned that agreement is a deal so that will be done."
The United boss is also hoping he can add further to his squad as the countdown continues towards the new season.
"AlI I can do is work day to day to the best of my ability," said the manager. "We're trying to build as strong a football club as we can. Time will tell as to who we bring in.
"The transfer window is miles from closing and we have to work to bring in what we need to get. My targets haven't changed.
"We're working to do what we can try and do, and hopefully we can do deals. Going into July, we'd like to do them if we can and I'm focusing on that.
"It could happen that players go out of the door and others come in. There's been enquiries.
"If you have a surplus in a position then it makes sense because players can get regular football. If that arises, I will have that discussion with that player."
