Leeds United confirm first transfer signing of summer window and contract length — YEP 8/7/26

Leeds United have confirmed their first summer 2026 signing after he put pen to paper on a four-year deal at Elland Road.

Harry Wilson almost became a Leeds player last summer in the 24 hours prior to transfer deadline day, before Fulham's change of heart saw him stay put at Craven Cottage. But the Whites have got the 29-year-old at the second time of asking after his contract ran out at Fulham. The free agent turned down a number of other offers to join several of his Wales international team-mates at Leeds.

A club statement said: "Leeds United are delighted to announce the signing of exciting forward Harry Wilson, who joins the club following the expiry of his contract at fellow Premier League side Fulham. Arriving at Elland Road on a four-year-deal, Wilson becomes our first signing of the summer transfer window, having chosen to join the Whites over several offers from elsewhere. Wilson is an experienced top-flight and international attacker, who can operate anywhere across the forward areas, showing versatility and quality in the final third of the pitch."

Leeds wanted a right wing/10 blend last summer but were unable to fill that vacancy. Wilson ticks that box for Daniel Farke and arrives on the back of a stellar season in the top flight. He scored 10 goals and added a further seven assists for Fulham, taking him to 82 goal contributions from 187 appearances for the Cottagers over five years.

Wilson began his career with Liverpool and had time on loan with Hull City, Derby County - with whom he ousted Leeds from the Championship play-offs - Bournemouth and Cardiff City. He brings the experience of 156 Premier League appearances to Leeds and a reputation for wicked set-piece deliveries. At international level he has 69 caps and 17 goals.
