Diego Llorente signs new Leeds contract until 2026 - YEP 23/12/22

Leeds United have renewed Diego Llorente’s contract until 2026.

The 29-year-old joined Leeds in September 2020, shortly after their promotion back to the top flight, and has made 55 appearances for the club. Llorente’s deal was set to expire in the summer of 2024, but he will now be with the club for a further three and a half years.

The Spain international has 10 caps to his name at senior level.

Llorente was part of the Leeds side that finished ninth in the Premier League in 2020-21. He also played as Leeds secured safety away at Brentford last season.

Leeds are 15th in the Premier League table after 14 games this season. Llorente has featured in nine games in all competitions this campaign but did not feature in any of their last four league matches before the World Cup break.

Jesse Marsch’s side take on Manchester City in their first game after the World Cup break on December 28.

They lost 4-2 at home to Monaco in their final friendly on Wednesday night.
