Leeds United's Zac Thompson seems set to be released.
Leeds United midfielder Zac Thompson's career at the club appears to be over after he was allowed to go on trial at Scunthorpe United.
The Scunthorpe Telegraph report that Thompson figured for the club's reserve team in a match with their counterparts at Mansfield Town.
The 22-year-old has not played a single game for Leeds United this season, unable to even make the bench under any of the managers who have taken charge.
Thompson has a contract until 2016 at Leeds, but it is clear that he has no future at the club. The report even describes him as a 'former Leeds midfielder'.
In the same way Leeds terminated the contract of striker Noel Hunt in January, there is every chance they choose to take the same actions regarding Thompson, if Scunthorpe are unwilling to make them a desirable offer.
Thompson began his career with Everton's academy before joining Leeds, and went onto make 13 first team appearances for the Whites.
His last appearance came in August 2013 as a substitute in a League Cup clash against Chesterfield.
Scunthorpe currently sit in 19th place in League One.
