Lewis Cook returns to Thorp Arch with injury

Midfielder Lewis Cook has returned to the club early after picking up an ankle injury while on international duty for England Under-19s.
Cook sustained the injury during Saturday’s 1-0 European Championships qualifying win over Azerbaijan in France.
The 18-year-old is back at Thorp Arch as a precaution, where he will be assessed by United’s medical staff ahead of the weekend’s visit of Blackburn Rovers.
It means Cook, who played 79 minutes on Saturday, misses the U19s’ final qualifier on Tuesday evening against France as the Young Lions look to secure a place at this summer’s showpiece tournament in Greece.
