Neil Redfearn: Leeds United head coach considering position

BBC 2/4/15
Leeds United head coach Neil Redfearn said he is considering his position after assistant coach Steve Thompson was suspended.
Thompson joined Leeds from neighbours Huddersfield in December and, alongside Redfearn, has overseen the club losing just three league games this year.
"I've got to have a good think," Redfearn told BBC Radio Leeds.
"It seems like a strange decision and I would have liked to have known about it."
The Elland Road club released a statement on Thursday to say Thompson had been suspended and they would be making no further comment.
Redfearn added: "It is undermining because we are trying to put something together under the guise that you are getting the backing you need. It's disappointing.
"Steve understands the game and the division and the players have taken to him. The results have been there for everyone to see.
"I love this club and I've loved working with the players. Me and Steve have worked together well."
Redfearn, 49, was appointed as Leeds' third coach of the season on a 12-month rolling contract in November following the sackings of Dave Hockaday and Darko Milanic.
The former academy boss has won 10 of his 26 games in charge.
Leeds, who face Blackburn Rovers at home on Saturday, are currently 13th in the Championship.
Redfearn said Thompson's suspension could destabilise the team.
"I don't think it helps because Steve is part of the team and part of what we have been doing," he added.
"If you want to deflate something then you take things away from that team. I've got to make sure for the players and the supporters' sake that the lads will be as professional and focused as they have been all season."
