Cellino takeover still far from straightforward

Vital Leeds 7/4/14
It seems the takeover is still far from straightforward at Leeds United despite an independent QC ruling in his favour after appealing against the Football League`s decision to bar him from owning the club.
Cellino must now wait for the Football League to ratify his takeover of the club at a board meeting on Thursday.
The Football League refused Cellino permission to complete his takeover of Leeds United after failing their 'Owners and Directors Test` after being found guilty of tax evasion in an Italian court for unpaid duty on a yacht he brought into the country from the US.
An Independent QC heard the appeal last week and ruled in his favour saying he had not acted dishonestly, something that the Football League banned him from taking over at Elland Road. The QC said that Cellino had not intended to act dishonestly and there for was clear to take over at Leeds.
Whilst the league may ratify the deal on Thursday, they may then have the right to ban Cellino again when the findings of Dr Sandra Lepore, the judge who found him guilty in an Italian court last month, gives the written report on the case sometime before mid-June. If Lepore says he is guilty of dishonesty then the league could ban him once again.
