Leeds United hold talks over potential MLS move for 28-year-old — The72 5/3/25

Leeds United forward Jack Harrison could return to the MLS
this summer after ‘exploratory talks’ according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.
Leeds United are flying high in the Championship this
season. LUFC look destined for a return to the Premier League at the second
time of asking.
Daniel Farke’s side had a very busy summer transfer window
with several players being allowed to leave. One of those players was Jack
Harrison, who had his loan extended with Premier League Everton.
He is set to return to Elland Road this summer, however he
does not look likely to stay.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United have
held ‘exploratory talks’ with clubs in the MLS to allow Harrison to return to
America.
They suggest that Harrison would welcome a return after
failing to impress with Everton. No official approach or negotiations have
taken place as of yet though.
Harrison left the MLS when he joined Manchester City from
New York City FC back in January 2018. He joined LUFC on an initial loan from
Man City in July 2018 and the move was made permanent in July 2021.
Harrison boasts a solid record at Leeds United overall.
In 206 games, he scored 34 times and got 32 assists. This
was despite playing for a side struggling in the Premier League for the
majority of that stint.
With that said, it was no surprise when Harrison was courted
by Premier League sides upon LUFC’s relegation. However, what was more of a
surprise was how much he struggled at Goodison Park.
Last season, he registered just three goals and three
assists for Everton. That was his worst record since Leeds United’s promotion,
but he’s now yet to chip in with a goal contribution in 23 games this time
around.
Given Harrison’s poor form this season, it is highly
unlikely Leeds United secure a decent fee for the winger.
When he was purchased by LUFC, it set them back over £10m.
This represented a good deal at the time but they might struggle to recoup that
fee now.
They will be hoping for clubs in America to show interest to
get as good a fee as possible. Harrison still has three years left on his deal
at LUFC, putting them in a decent position to negotiate.
